Being an Atlantic Southeast pilot is more than just flying from Point A to Point B; it’s upholding the highest levels of professionalism while working with our flight attendants, dispatchers, mechanics and station agents to deliver safe and reliable service to all of our passengers on every flight.
Atlantic Southeast Pilot Minimum Requirements:
*Rotorcraft flight time: Full total time credit for single or multi-engine helicopter time.
Multi-engine fixed wing hourly minimums are required as stated above
25 hours fixed wing currency within the last 6 months
Selection Process:
We seek candidates with 121 experience. However, candidates without 121 experience will be considered, especially graduates from a major aviation university and applicants with advanced jet training or experience. Multi-engine helicopter time counts as total time after the 50-hour MEL fixed-wing requirement.
Our hiring team reviews online resumes and applications, and invites the most qualified applicants for an interview. During the interview, the applicant will be questioned on judgment, decision making, general aviation knowledge, instrument procedures, weather, AIM, and all FARs. Education, training history, and employment history will be reviewed. The simulator evaluation associated with the interview is normally conducted in a CRJ full-motion category “D” simulator, where the applicant must demonstrate basic instrument proficiency, holding procedures, and instrument approach skills.
We recommend a review of the Commercial and ATP test guide questions before attending the interview. In addition, “The Turbine Pilot’s Flight Manual” by Brown and Holt is a great study tool in preparation for the interview. Advanced Jet Training is an excellent preparation for the airline training regime.
Candidates who are successful can expect to be assigned a pool status or class date within two to three weeks. Candidates who are unsuccessful must wait six months before reapplying.
Partnerships:
Atlantic Southeast partners with select universities and flight schools, where we work closely to provide interview opportunities to pilots who successfully complete their training. Check with your university to see if a partnership with Atlantic Southeast has been established.
