Atlantic Southeast Airlines is a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. and a leading member of the Delta Connection program. Under the SkyWest, Inc. umbrella, ASA and SkyWest Airlines form the world’s largest regional airline alliance. ASA began operations on June 27, 1979, with one 19-passenger Twin Otter aircraft serving Atlanta to Columbus, Georgia. It has operated as a Delta Connection carrier since 1984.
Our pilots fly some of the most sophisticated aircraft in the airline industry, including the 50- and 70-seat Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) and the ATR-72. Pilots joining ASA become part of an operation characterized by first class working conditions, a reputation for safety, customer service, and professionalism.
We are interested in hiring both great pilots and great employees. Our pilots' number one priority is to conduct each flight safely with due consideration to passenger comfort and on-time performance. ASA pilots are based at our Atlanta hub and fly Delta Connection and SkyTeam codeshare flights.

Selection Process
Our selection process begins with the submission of a resume. We are looking for candidates with 121 experience. However, candidates without 121 experience will be considered, especially if they have advanced aircraft training or experience. Multi-engine helicopter time counts as total time after a 50 hour MEL fixed-wing requirement.
Our hiring team regularly reviews resumes and grants interviews on a competitive basis. Those meeting the above requirements are initially pre-screened. If this screening is successful, the applicant is invited for an interview then simulator evaluation. During the interview, the applicant will be questioned on judgment, general aviation knowledge, instrument procedures, weather, AIM, and all FARs. Education, training history, and employment history will be reviewed. The simulator evaluation is normally conducted in the CRJ simulator, where the applicant should demonstrate basic instrument proficiency, holding procedures, and instrument approach skills.
We recommend a review of the commercial and ATP test guides before attending the interview. In addition, “The Turbine Pilot’s Flight Manual” by Brown and Holt is a great study tool in preparation for the interview.
Candidates who have previously interviewed for pilot positions with ASA may have to wait six months before beginning the application process again. Check with the pilot recruiter for information on a quicker re-evaluation. As an equal opportunity employer, we encourage workforce diversity and recognize the unique ideas and experiences of each individual. If you believe you are the best, come join our team.
